You may be thinking about the title and feeling confused. Don’t feel confused. I just wanted your attention…lol… But this is true when you feel like having a heart attack or stroke or panic attack and finally when your doc reveals that it’s only gastritis then you feel ashamed in front of every one for your panicky actions as if you were dying few minutes ago. Yes! You’re right. Gastritis can give you all kinds of feelings.
Few tips:
Timings of meals: This is to remember that always take your meals in time. Never be indiscipline or else the small demon can attack you immediately. The timings of your meals can be like this, Breakfast 8 /9 AM, Lunch – 12:30 / 1 PM and Dinner – 8 / 9 PM (the timings are a mixture of Indian as well as the timings of western countries).
Timings of water intake: Suppose the timings of your meals are as I mentioned above, Breakfast 8 /9 AM, Lunch – 12:30 / 1 PM and Dinner – 8 / 9 PM, then you should drink as much water as you can after you breakfast till 11:30 AM then stop drinking water till. There should be a gap of 3 ½ to 4 hours till you start drinking water again. In between that you can have your lunch in time at 1 PM. Then stop drinking water again before almost an hour of your dinner.
Amounts of each meal: Follow this rule of having a stomach full of heavy breakfast, have a healthy lunch but little lighter than the breakfast and finally have your dinner as manageable as possible. I know we all Indians follow a reverse saga. But it’s high time we should learn as quick as possible. Why to suffer from this ugly disease?
Bed time: Never go to bed immediately after your dinner. Always keep a gap of 2 hours before you go to sleep after dinner.
Home made medicines: Yes! I didn’t believe this initially but it worked wonders and now I am dependent on this medicine readily available at your home. Take a little cumin seeds (Jeera) on your palm and add little sugar to it then chew it and gulp it. When you are having a reflux, you will be relived. Why to depend on antacid every time?
These are not medically proved methods but practically proved by me and many like me. They don’t have any side-effects if you follow them. Follow it, if it works good for you then you are benefitted or else stop following.
Stay Blessed!

I loved this and your title grabbed me as well. Your advice is very good. I never drink any fluids with my meals anymore and it certainly makes a difference. Age can do that! Thank you for an insightful look into gastritis - heartburn. Thanks Nancy for reading and commenting. I appreciate it.
Yes! I kept the title knowingly as the readers are declining slowly and slowly...
Regards, Chiradeep
It does ring a bell to me. My husband experienced this last month that he thought he had a minor stroke but the doctor kept saying it's a gastritis but he didn't actually feel anything like stomach upset or pain. After a checkup, the report came back clean except of course his blood pressure (for years) .
We can eat breakfast like a king, the health book says, fortunately.
