“Independence Day?”

Today is the day when India was independent from the British Rule in 1947. There is celebration in all over India whole day. People in India distribute sweets, wish each other. There is flag hoisting in different places, there are speeches, addresses by the Prime Minister and other leaders of the country to the men and woman of India. The jawans (soldiers) who have died for India were given salutation by the whole country today. And we all are proud of our country India and proud to be an Indian. This is the 65th Independence Day today. We are celebrating our FREEDOM.
He was right. We are still not independent. We are still under bondages. We still serve something or somebody in India. We are under the bondage of money or greed. We are under the bondage of so called name, fame, and authority. We are under the bondage of corruption as an anti-corruption team has been formed recently to free us from the clutches of corruption. We are under the bondage of superstitions, illiteracy, and ignorance. We are still under the bondage of evil practices even when the top IT professionals and scientists are being produced from this country. There are mental blockages as India is one of those countries which are leading in suicide rates in the world. We are not independent mentally, spiritually and even physically. We are still not free as yet.
“Education is the light in the darkness of ignorance.” This is a famous quote that we all Indians well versed with. But the education department is one of the most corrupted of all in India today. Today we need something or somebody who can transform our conditions, our situations. Who can really transform us and lead us from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light.
I find only God who can really help us in this matter as He invites us to follow His teachings and His standards.
He says, “If you follow my teachings and hold unto them then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Yes, His teaching, His word is the only truth available for us which can transform our lives, which can transform India and can set us free from all our bondages because He is the truth Himself.
I mentioned India here in the context of 15th August though it is important for the whole man-kind to follow God’s standards and teachings; and then we all can know and understand the truth and finally the truth will set us free…
Set us free from the bondage of ignorance, darkness, sin. There will be freedom of our physical body as well as the freedom of our mind and spirit. Then only we can celebrate 'Independence Day' in its truest sense.
