So many people don’t really agree to the fact that ‘all are sinners.’ They argue saying that ‘I don’t commit adultery, stealing, tell lies, kill anybody etc. so I am not a sinner.’ But the fact can not be changed. If we search for the qualities of a father in his son’s characters then what about sin. Trust me sin is hereditary and all commit sin at least few times in their entre life time. Sin is such a disease that it goes on to the next generation through the parent’s genes.
Once in a seminar I asked a question to the faculty member who was teaching us Biblical Basis of Mission. I asked, “Sir! How can a baby commit sin?”
He smiled and said, “When a mother delays to feed her baby when it is hungry, it bites her nipple as soon as she starts feeding her baby. Ask any mother and they can testify about it.” And I know what he said was correct. Even the babies scream at the top of their voice when they don’t get what they want. This is violence in its level. I got my answer and thanked him.
King David says in Psalm 51:5, “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.”
I can dare to say, Abraham, Joseph and even Job were sinners; because the word of God says so. They didn’t continue in sin. They were restored. There was a definite way to be restored from the clutches of sin for all sinners about which I will post another article later on.
Sin is a chip instilled in us from the very beginning of our life on this earth. And that chip gets activated more and more with our growth. When we allow its growth it takes a bigger form. When we don’t allow it still works in its smaller form. Nobody can deny that, ‘I haven’t committed any sin.’
Be assure that we all are sinners. The realization of sin is necessary for all of us. That realization brings us closure to God who has created us and loves us.
Stay Blessed!
