“Chiradeep Patra, SearchWarp author since: July 24, 2008, has 65 articles on SearchWarp, with a total readership of 43,362.”
Apart from the readership, an author or a writer always requires feedbacks to get motivated, encouraged and to improve the quality of his/her writings. Feedbacks or comments keep the writers on their toes.
SearchWarp as a writers community has provided both to a writer.
But I will give you a brief report on the statistics of all my articles for the last 3 years from the very beginning till now. In regards to the continuity of my contributions, I have devided all the postings in to 3 periods as I stayed quiet 2 times in between. The stats are as under:
Period 1
Stay: 7/26/08 - 4/17/09
Months: 9 months
Articles: 25 articles
Comments on Articles: 278 top level comments
Comments per Article: 11.12
Period 2
Stay: 8/26/2010 - 12/1/2010
Months: 4 months (over 3 months)
Articles: 29 articles
Comments on Articles: 208 top level comments
Comments per Article: 7.17
Period 3
Stay: 6/15/2011 – till date
Months: 1 month (less than a month)
Articles: 11 articles
Comments on Articles: 22 top level comments
Comments per Article: 2
In the above stats you may find the feedbacks are in a declining state. I am seriously missing them but I am not disheartend at all as there are many silent readers who get benefitted by my articles.
The point which I want to raise is, we as SearchWarpies have a reputation of creating a soothing and warm environment whenever we comment anywhere in the site. We just don’t follow the civility pledge but we have it in us. But I sense we are losing that quality day by day, not by giving rude feedbacks but by reducing our participation in the healthy discussion which we used to have previously.
Why did I give my stats in 3 periods? Just to let you know the prominent decline. Another saddening thing is, when I came back in the 2nd period, I didn’t get the comments of old pals. Many were absent. When I came back in the 3rd period, the 2nd period commentors were absent. The only constant commentors were Teresa Ortiz, Ken McCreless, David Tanguay, Susan Thom, Kacycarr, Dianne Lehmann and last but not the least our dear Bruce & Jean Horst.
I miss the comments of people like Ronyae, Lorrie, Michelle, Sandra, Christine Akiteng, Jennifer Stewart, Grace O'Malley, Linda, Val and so on…; many more quality people are just missing.
Others like Steve, Fran, Christopher, Gregory are very recent, I mean I know them in my 2nd period in SW. (Please don’t mind if I haven’t mentioned your name. I just included the names which came to my mind right now).
Why is that happening? Now let’s see ‘How to put a grip on your cool warpies (readers)…’
Be the starter: We need always need to be the starter of the conversation or discussion. Hilda askd a question recently which I answered back. The question was, “What does it mean : Roll My Log And I'll Roll Yours?” I answered it correctly. We need to start rolling others logs to get our logs rolling.
Don’t be so techincal or mechanical: We should not comment on the articles for just getting a point or for a help in return. But we should give an article its value. We should give comments after reading the articles with our hearts open.
Keep in touch: We have facebook. There’s a SW group in FB having only 39 members in it. That’s shameful. What about the other warpies? Why don’t we join it and be in touch with all.
(Feeling guilty? Join today: https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6966814305&ref=ts)
Share each others stuffs: Lol…don’t share others stuff…Stuff means, the articles written by the warpies. We can share it on twitter, Facebook, Care2 or wherever we are on the web. Then we can send a proof back to our writer saying, “I liked your article, so I shared it on ‘XYZ’.” That’s all. Don’t ask him/her to share ours. He/she has the brain to do so. Lol…
Write hot articles like Kacy: Lol…I am just kidding. This is not a point at all. This is just an honour to Kacy, as the number one author of SearchWarp. The information what she has been providing is just amazing. I salute her for the contribution to SW and to the world as a whole. Bruce will agree with me on this.
Hey warpies! Let’s create a beautiful world right here in SearchWarp under the able leadership of our dearest Bruce.
Dear future warpies! Join your hands with us at: SearchWarp. Take my word, you won't regret joining it.
Stay Blessed…!

Top-level comments on this article: (3 total)C: You make some excellent well researched points. And I get from them that you wish that people would participate in the commentary more. I think you are right about the "silent appreciation". I try to offer "my reaction" or "how I benefited", but often I just am happy to make a simple comment. I will continue to offer my comments as best I can. Yours, Christofer.Hi Chris! Thanks for the comment...
See, the main point is, if nobody comments thats ok, but when somebody comments then you get to know and understand the need of a reader. Not only that, a comment motivates a writer to write more on the subject. Writing won't become a one way communication but becomes a two way interaction. So a comment is important.
Thanks for the encouragement, Chiradeep. Unfortunately telling people they need to write or comment more is kind of like telling people that they need to go to church more. Even with the threat of hell, it usually doesn't work very well!
What really needs to happen is that people need to see the benefit of writing and commented on SearchWarp. I'm working day and night at this, giving it my best efforts. I sure hope that's good enough.Yes...definitely Bruce. Your effort is good enough for giving us a great environment or platform. Thanks for envisioning & creating a great community...
Hi Chiradeep I loved this article and agree whole heartly with all you said. I love the mention of my name, and especially the part "Write hot articles like Kacy: Lol…I am just kidding". I see you had to cover yourself on that - with the just kidding bit (lol). I loved the old SearchWarp and its people, but like you pointed out many have done a disppearing act which is sad, but you know what Chiradeep, there is still me and you and lot more that are sticking around.
These changes Bruce has been making lately may have a lot to do with this. We can only but wait and see. No matter how long the wait I'll still be here reading articles by my "favorite" authors (guess I don't need to spell it out who they are). I also apologise for delayed response to this article only I have had many hospital appointments as of late, so reading and writing had to be put on hold. Nonetheless and real soon, you can be watching out for some more "HOT" articles by Kacycarr...so brace yourself.
Keep well
KacyThanks a lot for the kind words Kacy...
Yes you're right, I have covered up myself well with "no offense" sign board in the beginning and the end of the article and given the statement which you had pointed out. I had to do that.
Anyway, as you said, Bruce has to do a lot these days. It's our prayer so that we can be alive as writers always in SW.
I have started writing some articles on the topics which I don't like also to raise the number of visitors for SW and be a help in the endeavor of Bruce & Jean.
Thanks for everything Kacy...and yes, what exactly happened to you...why you had visit Hospital???
Would love to know...
Chiradeep
