It’s really a difficult affair to know whether we are saved or not…
As a kid when I used to study my Bible or listen to a sermon on Salvation, I used think how is it possible for a person to know or be sure of his or her salvation. Am I saved? If I am not saved then I may have tough time later when I die. These questions were troubling me till I really understood Salvation and the Assurance of Salvation.
- The Scripture Says So: As a believer the first and foremost assurance is the Holy Scripture which assures us that, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." If we really believes this portion of the scripture then we are saved.
- Hunger for the word of God: When we feel that we have a hunger to study His word and know more and more about HIS persona and characters then we should be sure that we are saved. All the saved ones have that hunger to study and only study His words again and again.
- Longing to spend time with Him in Prayer: A saved person always longs to spend more and more time with His saviour in prayer and supplication. A saved person always desires to interact with his/her saviour as a lover, as a father and as a friend.
- Love to have fellowship with the believers: A saved person always love the fellowship of fellow believers. He/she always get attracted wherever believers gather and talk about the saviour and His scripture.
- Desire to witness Christ: A saved person always has the desire in his/her heart to tell others about the life he/she is having. He/she always longs to save others or keep the desire for others to get eternal life. He/she always loves to witness Christ in his/her life in front of others. His or her heart pains when he/she sees the unsaved people in darkness.
May God bless us…!
