“If You'll Do What You Can Do, God Will Do What You Can't Do!”

Mrs. Joyce Meyer had come to Kolkata, India in October 2010. I saw her live with Hillsong Gospel Team. That was an amazing experience. Worshiping God with Hillsong and listening God's word from Joyce Meyer was truly a great experience. I was really touched by her one of the sermons which I want to share with all of you today.

Joyce shared biblical examples of how doing your part will activate God to do the rest. She gave few examples from Bible to prove her point as follows:

Example 1

She first told about the story of Lazarus in John 11. When Jesus came, Martha, Mary and others were crying and they shared what has happened. Jesus asked, to roll away the stone from the tomb. If He is able to raise the dead, He could have done that without the stone being rolled from its place. But He wanted the people and family members should do what they can do by faith. And then He did what’s impossible for them to do. He raised Lazarus from the dead.

Joyce explained, there will be many stones on our way in this life in front of the deadly difficulties but we have to do our part first in faith. Yes! We need to roll the stones first and then seek God's intervention to raise or give life to the dead things in our life. No matter how dead our situation is, God can raise it up. God took Joyce's mess and made it her message and He'll do the same for each of us. But what if we can't raise our dead circumstance? We can still roll away a few stones. Some people want to sit around in their own pity.

Example 2

Joyce also shared about the man by the pool at Bethesda in John 5.
We need to roll the stones first and then seek God's intervention to raise or give life to the dead things in our life. No matter how dead our situation is, God can raise it up. God took Joyce's mess and made it her message and He'll do the same for each of us.
All he needed to do was wriggle to the edge of the pool and get in. But when Jesus asked, in verse 7, he replies, “I can’t, sir," the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me."

We say the same way like the lame man, “I have no one to put me…" If we can just do our part the rest God can do for us.

Example 3

Joyce said, ‘God likes our aggressiveness like Peter.’ When he saw Jesus walking on the water, he jumped to walk towards Jesus on the water and the action of his faith enabled him to do the impossible by the help of God (Matthew 14).

Example 4

She also shared about Zaccheus in Luke 19, who instead of complaining about his height did his part and climbed up in the tree. He had a spirit where he would do whatever it took to get to Jesus, and Jesus found him. When your spirit is right, God will find you.

Example 5

Lastly she shared about four lepers sitting at the entrance of the city gate and outside the enemy camp, waiting to die in 2King 7. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die?   If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die." And we all know how God scared the Arameans and they fled leaving all they had including food in their camp. The lepers were satisfied and they shared the good news with their country men also.

At last she concluded that we definitely need to do our part to let God do His part which is just impossible for us.

The absolute worst thing we could ever do is sitting around and doing nothing. So friends! Let’s not be lazy but do our part faithfully and be assured of HIS action in the right time.

May God Bless Us!

Even though I don't have the same exact belief as you, Chiradeep, I can relate to what you say. I also believe we must do our part, and learn not to interfere in that which is not ours to do.

Hi Chiradeep,

The joy of your experience is wonderfully brought across in your presentation. Congratulations on that.

This kind of evangelization doesn’t resonate with me because there is always a kind of rigid message involved. This is man or in this case women made.

History and practice reveals further more that not all the crusade, evangelization of the white man were a blessing on this planet.

HE is definitely the God of the impossible and chooses to use us as His arms reached out and His hands extended here on earth. Thanks for this good article.

She missed one great example. When Moses was leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt and came to the Red Sea, Moses stretched out his rod over the water and the water parted by the power of God. I sometime wonder what would have happened if he had not done his part by stretching out the rod, but instead, just stood there.

You're right Sir! But I think all the great characters in the Bible had done their own parts. So in a short time she covered a lot more. She was very good in regards to keeping her time...Thanks for commenting...
