Prayer is direct communication with God the Almighty. When Jesus was on this earth as a man, He led a very prayerful life. Whenever He required doing a special task He went out to pray. Actually He wanted to illustrate the models of prayer for us to adopt and that is why He showed it how to pray by Himself.

He was praying
A. away from people (Matt. 14: 23, Mark 6:46, Luke 5:16, John 6:15)
This implies,
- away from earthly ties
- away from earthly relationship
- away from earthly relationship
B. in solitary places (Mark 1: 35)
This implies,
- away from distraction
- more concentration
- not showing off
- prioritizing
C. without being time bound (Luke 6:12, Mark 1:35, Matt. 14:23)
This implies,
- nothing in prayers way (no interruption)
- No time limit
- No constraints whatsoever
All the above models of prayer that Jesus showed have an single object. And that is solely to be in tune with the God alone. When we pray we should cut off all relationships to be in tune with the God alone. God doesnt want us to make Him one of every other thing we do. He wants our full attention unto Him. He is a zealous God.
Friends! Lets give our God our full attention when we pray then only we can understand His heart and His purpose in our lives.
May God bless you!

More commentsHi Chiradeep,I liked your write-up. I am glad that you touched this topic. God is always ready to relate with us in a very personal way, even though He is the Creator and King. Prayer is a beatiful way to talk to HIM.I beleive that this article will bless many.SwapnaThanks for the comment... May God bless you. I will be blessed when somebody else will be blessed by my article.
This is good practical and inspiring. Yes, God is a jealous God and this is in a good way. He is jealous, not envious. There is nothing that anyone has that God can be envious of, for God owns everything. But He is jealous of His relationship with His people, just as a husband or wife is jealous of the relationship they have with each other and their family. In other words, they don't want anything to come in the way of that relationship for it is very precious to them. That is what it means about God being jealous. His relationship with us is so intimate that he cherishes and protects it from any outside interference.Oops, I'm starting to preach here, so I'll go for now. Thanks for this article.Hey David! Thanks for preaching on my pulpit...lol... You're very much correct....God bless you
Prayer is so important in my life. I chose the morning time for my quiet communication with my God. Great article...& God bless you...I know I am very bad at that...thanks & God bless you...
Good article- I just finished this morning, go into your prayer room. Do you know the jewish prayer shawl is their "room?" They pull it over their heads when they pray. I learned this from a good Jewish friend. One on one with God as we Christians should do. God - just who is He? An interesting topic that will never end until we all find out the answer and that we will soon. Best wishes. But in this noisy world Shawl wont help anymore...we have to find a proper room for prayer...
Very nice and very true. Most of our waking moments should be spent in prayer--whenever and wherever we are. Always, God should be in the forefront of our minds. Thank you for a wonderful article.SandraThanks a lot for your valuable comment & God bless you for that...
